Patsy Green grew up in Leitchfield, Kentucky, in a close-knit family of 2 other daughters in a ministerial family and her Mamaw and Papaw living next door as well as other aunts and uncles and cousins next door. Her dad assisted in a local funeral home and somewhere along the way she became interested in being involved in funeral work herself. After high school she worked in a nursing home and saw a deeper measure of her dad’s community service.
She met her husband to be while working at the nursing home and she joined him in Lexington for the rest of graduate school and then four years of medical school--working as a secretary/typist at the Biological Sciences Department at U of K and then for four urologists while Ken was in medical school. After three years in Huntsville for residency (where they started their family of three sons), they returned to Leitchfield for Ken to start his family practice.
Patsy has been strong in her faith in God and that was the basis of homeschooling her children for several years before placing them in a Christian School. She has also served in the capacity as bookkeeper for her church and her husband for many years. She also worked at State Farm for eleven years as a property and casualty agent.
Patsy and Ken continue to serve God in their local church where their entire family attends, including five precious grandchildren. This position at the funeral home is expected to be the perfect venue to give back to the community for what the community has given her and her family since returning to Leitchfield.
