Jason L. Watson, is the managing director of Watson & Hunt Funeral Directors. He grew up in Grayson County, Kentucky, graduated from Grayson County High School in 1997 and enlisted in the United States Army immediately after graduation where he served as an intelligence analyst with the Headquarters Company of the 1st Mechanized Infantry Brigade in Ft. Riley, KS. After completing two years of service, he began his apprenticeship as a funeral director and embalmer under his father Joseph Watson at Watson & Hunt Funeral Directors. He graduated from Mid-America College of Funeral Service in the Fall of 2001 with an Associate’s in Applied Sciences Mortuary Arts and was licensed to practice the following December. He took over as owner and managing director at Watson & Hunt after his father’s passing in December of 2002 and has continued on the traditions set forth by his father over twenty years ago.
He lives in Leitchfield with his wife, Angela Watson who works as an X-Ray technician at Norton’s Children’s Hospital, and two children, Norea & Alexander, where he continues to uphold the same high standards of service to community taught to him by his father. Aside from operating the funeral home, he is also one of the head organizers to Leitchfield’s annual Halloween festival, “Scare On The Square” which helps raise money for the Grayson County Community Alliance Food Pantry.
Jason and his staff joined the Morris Family Funeral Homes this year and will continue to serve the people of Grayson County with same high standards and distinction for many years to come.
