Wendell Stephens, 86, of Edmonton passed away Friday, February 19th, 2021 at Metcalfe Health Care in Edmonton.   Born August 9, 1934  in Metcalfe County he was the son of the late Henry and Mamie Stephens.    Wendell attended school in Metcalfe County and afterwards served in the United States Army.  Wendell was employed the Department of Fish and Wildlife as Conservation Officer in Metcalfe and surrounding counties, from which he retired after 25 years of service.   Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Amy Beth Harris Stephens and two brothers Anglie and Marshall Stephens.

Wendell is survived by his wife Misti Mosher Fields Stephens. One son, Larry and wife Laurie Stephens.   Two stepsons, Nathan and wife Micah Fields, BJ and wife Kayce all of Edmonton.  Six grandchildren.  Amelia (Chris) Ferguson, Rebekah (Mike) Parrino, Quentin Stephanie) Stephens, Raylee, Parker and Gracelyn Fields.  Four great grandchildren.   Brooks and Collin Parrino.   Raelynn and Kinsley Stephens.

Funeral services for Wendell Stephens will be held 1:00 PM, Tuesday, at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton, with burial in the Metcalfe County Memorial Gardens.   A walkthrough visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.

  1. My heart is sad, he sure was one of a kind always thought of others instead of himself. He use to bring candy and bubble gum to our residents when he would come to work, 15 years at Metcalfe Health Car. Not only a friend, but family. You are truly going to be missed❤️ Love you,

    I’m so sorry to hear of Wendall’s passing and I wish I could be there in person for his service on Tuesday but I will still be in quarantine and that won’t do. I didn’t get to spend much time with Wendall but knowing Larry says a lot! I am so sorry for your loss and I pray for peace and comfort in the days to come.
