Shirley Ann Young, 84, of Glasgow, passed away Sunday, April 19, 2020 at the NHC Healthcare facility in Glasgow. She was born, August 16, 1935 in Henry County, KY, to the late Arthur Lee Jones and Amanda Allnutt Jones. In 1952, she married Charles Edward Young, who preceded her in death.

She loved the lord and her family her entire life. She worked in several pant manufacturing companies for over 30 years. Shirley found enjoyment sewing, creating Raggedy Ann & Andy Dolls, puppets, talking to everyone, and loved her church, Landmark Apostolic Church, where she was a member for over 40 years.

Survivors include four daughters, Becky Key (Herman) of Glasgow, Nancy Wilson of Maryland, Jackie Jones (James) of Glasgow, and Lila Klein (Jerry) of Nevada; nine grandchildren, Eddie Key, Mark Key, Anale Young, Kiersten Logan, MiKala Lawley, Jamie Moore, Julie Shipp, Jessica Harper and Latricia Clary; 27 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; one brother, Lynn Maurice “Sonny” Jones of Florida; one sister, Mary Woods of Pennsylvania.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by four brothers, Tommy, Billy Paul, Don, and Walter “Buck” Jones; three sisters, Jean Hardin, Alice Nichols, and Thelma Barnett.

A private funeral service for Shirley Young, will be Tuesday, April 21st at the A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens.

The funeral celebration for Shirley Young will be live streamed at 1:00pm Tuesday, April 21, 2020, where family and friends may visit www.Facebook.com/crowfuneralhome to participate in the celebration.

  18. So many special memories! Her amazing beef stew and biscuits, our trip to New Mexico, hunting and running the hay rolls on the farm, teaching Sunday school together, ugly sweater parties at her house, the angle food cake she always made for bake sales. The list goes on! She always set her table so pretty and put in the extra work to make everything nice. We still have the puppets she made for the church. She and Poppa Charlie had a huge impact in my life! She is greatly missed!

  19. Sis. Young always brought a smile to my face whenever I saw her. She was kind, loving, and such a great example. My prayers are with her family at this time. I know she is going to reap the reward Jesus has for her as she lived for Him. I am thankful to have had her in our lives.

  20. What a precious lady our Sis Shirley Young was. We’ve missed her always smiling face. Sis Young was always generous with her time and talents Loved being involved In everything going at our church. She was a true friend and always showed us utmost respect. Her life spoke if her walk with God. We will see her on that resurrection morning and what a reunion that will be.

  21. I’m so sorry about the loss of Sis. Young. When my children and I started going to Landmark, her and Bro. Charlie welcomed us with open arms. We Quickly grew to love them. In my mind, I can still hear the many stories of her life that she shared with me often. I have a little electrical candle light that was a gift from Sis. Young several years ago. Every time I look at it, I will always think of this sweet lady. She will be greatly missed.
