  31. Eugene was like family to me. This year he came to my house to make repairs. He repaired what I knew needed repairing as well as what he found that needed it as well. Then he wanted to make sure I was okay and told me pay him when I could and didn’t want me to be in any hurry or run short paying any other bills. He always gave me fatherly advice which was honest and out of true concern. I admired, trusted and loved Eugene and had security knowing he would come when I needed him. I will miss him but I also take comfort in knowing he is rejoicing in Heaven. He truly was one of the best men I’ve known. Praying for Glenda Sue and Roger, I love y’all.

  32. Eugene was like a member of my family. This year he came and made repairs that I knew needed repairing as well as what he found that needed it. He then would tell me to pay when I could and was always concerned that I didn’t run short paying other bills. He would give me fatherly advice that was honest, right and from his heart. I had a sense of security knowing he was there and always came when I needed him. He was one of the best and I will miss him so much, but I also am comforted in knowing he’s rejoicing in Heaven. Glenda Sue and Roger are in my prayers-I love y’all and am so sorry for your loss and saddened hearts.

  33. Dear Family,

Years of being in fellowship, friendship and kinship, as a youngster has become an endearment that could not be measured in time, value or expression.

Eugene’s gift of engaging people helped bring value to the human relationship.

He like King David in the Psalms wanted to engage his God with the same vigor through praise and worship and I enjoyed the symphony of life when God was indeed worshipped in church or in work.

Eugene often talked of my Dad who had incorporated both with the same vigor, yet with quietness of spirit.

“For now we see through a glass darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.”– I Corinthians 13:12

The grace and mercy that came to us through Jesus Christ and brought us into kinship with God has now brought Eugene “face to face” and into perfect praise! To God be the glory!

    with love and prayers,
    Gerald, Karen and Derek Wood

Also, great memories of times at Dover, church picnics & singings, reunions, and other family get-togethers. There are other faint memories, when really young, that I wanted you to explain. I wish comfort and strength to Sue, Roger, Donna, & Shane in the days ahead. Great love ❤️ from your nephew Jeff.

  40. Eugene was a friend of my daddy, Wayne Branham, and we made friends when he did some home improvements for us. I was roughly 8-9 years old. Eugene knew me from that day on, he made me feel loved each time we saw each other. I think he did that with many as he was such a wonderful soul to meet on the street..always had a smile to offer and a quick conversation. It had to be quick because Eugene was a busy man.
