Martha Carolyn Smith West passed away on November 29, 2020, at the age of 72.
She was one of eight children born to the late Edward and Izetta Arnold in Island, Kentucky on August 26, 1948. She married the love of her life, Ronnie Lewis Smith, on June 29, 1968, who preceded her in death in December 1996.
She enjoyed her simple life. Taking care of her friends and family was her favorite hobby. She had a sweet tooth out of this world, loved listening to her oldies music, being at church, talking about the Lord, and spoiling her grandbabies to the fullest. Her life was a living example to others as a mother, daughter, sister, aunt and grandmother. She was the all around best.
Carolyn is survived by her brothers, David Arnold, Terry (Connie) Arnold, Bobby (Glenda) Arnold, her sisters, Judy Stinnett, Sandy Willis, Laura (John) Jones and the late Doris and Billy Pinkham, her son, Scottie Lewis Smith, her daughter, Jodi (Michael) Sumner, her grandchildren, Sara Smith, Leah (Smiley) Dowell, Chandler (Allison) Sumner, Braxton, Luke and Julia Sumner and several nieces, nephews and beloved friends.
Carolyn was a faithful member of Gospel of Kingdom Church. She loved worshipping and fellowshipping with her brothers and sisters in the Lord.
There will be a private service for family only at Miller-Schapmire Funeral Home in Hartford and a graveside service at Carson Cemetery.
All twenty-five loved ones who wish to honor Carolyn at the funeral are required to wear a mask while inside the funeral home for the safety of all those in attendance.
Miller-Schapmire Funeral Home is both honored and privileged to be entrusted with the care of Mrs. West. Share your messages of condolence with the family of Martha Carolyn Smith West and sign her virtual guestbook at www.millerschapmire.com.
