Larry Allen Hurt Sr., 83, of Owensville IN passed away December 20, 2020. He was born March 3, 1937 in Evansville, IN to the late Jake and Norene (Stevens) Hurt. Larry attended Owensville High School before joining the Navy to serve his country.  He married the love of his life Marilyn (Wilkerson) Hurt on September 9, 1960. Larry worked for Emge Packing Company for 26 years until they closed. He also worked for Ryder Trucking and retired after 15 years of serves. Larry was a member of the Ft. Branch VFW. He had several hobbies such as watching baseball, horse racing, and gardening. Larry was very passionate about his tomatoes and sold them too many people as well as Big Top restaurant in Evansville IN.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; siblings Franklin Eugene Hurt, William Hurt, Tom Hurt, Steven Hurt, Danny Hurt and Sally East.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years Marilyn Hurt; children Melody (Joe) Sparks, Stacy Hurt, and Larry (Carrie) Hurt Jr.; grandchildren Amber (Jason) Garrison, Songa (Aaron) Byrns, Nathane Ralph, Jon Martin, Kasey Kueber, Makala York, Tiffany Gehl, and Lacy Fowler; 15 great-granchildren; siblings Gary Hurt, Sandy Wilson, and Michael Hurt.

Holder’s Funeral Home is honored and privileged to be entrusted with the care of Mr. Hurt. Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at Holders Funeral Home from 11-2p. Funeral will be held Wednesday December 23, 2020 at 2pm with Bob Douglas officiating and burial at Walnut Hill Cemetery with Military honors.  All those who wish to honor and remember Larry in person at the service is required to wear a mask for the safety of all those in attendance.
