Rome, Indiana Kenneth H. Fiedler, 92, of Rome, died at his home on Sunday, December 5, 2004 surrounded by his family. Kenneth was born in Mount Pleasant, Iowa on June 22, 1912, son of the late Delmar Fiedler and Ollie Hall Fiedler. In1922 the family returned to Mrs. Fiedler's native Perry County where Kenneth attended Bear Creek Grade School and graduated from Rome Academy in 1931. He was united in marriage in Rome on June 22, 1938 to the former Doris Minto who preceded him in death in 2001. He was also preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Ralph Robert Fiedler in infancy and one great granddaughter, Serene Joy Fiedler, also in infancy. Kenneth retired as an electrical foreman from General Electric in 1975 where he had been employed for thirty years. He was a member of the Rome Methodist Church and the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge # 1424. A lifelong Perry County farmer and active member of the Democratic Party, he served on the Perry County Council from 1969 to 1984. He enjoyed playing cards in Derby and at the Moose. He is survived by one daughter, Peggy Jones and her husband Don of Wilder, Vermont, one son, James R. Fiedler and his wife Rebekah, Rome, Indiana, seven grandchildren, Cheri Thomas, Kenneth Littleton Jones, Sara Elizabeth Nowak, Amy Nicole, James Daniel, Margaret Mae and Thomas Robert Fiedler and five great grandchildren, Calvin Austin, Mataya Faith Fiedler, Julian Enzo Fiedler, Katherine Elizabeth Nowak and Alexander Robert Nowak. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM EST Thursday, December 9, 2004 at Huber Funeral Home, 129 N. 6th Street, Cannelton, Indiana with burial in Conner Cemetery near Derby, Indiana. Pastor Sharon Summers will officiate. Visitation will be from 2-8 PM Wednesday and 9-10:30 AM Thursday at Huber Funeral Home-Cannelton Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Rome United Methodist Church.
