Joseph ChristopherJCMurphy, 8l of 49l Murphy Road Elba, Ky.died on Thursday, January 22, 2004 at Colonial Terrace Nursing Home in Sebree, Ky. He was born on March 7, 1922 to the late James Robert and Teresa Marie Rummage Murphy. Was a retired farmer, member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, National Farmers Association, was a supporter of Right To Life, active in missionary work in Hati and Medjugorje. Enjoyed traveling and fishing and family gatherings. Preceded in death by his wife, Frances Emogene Riney Murphy who died in l97l, two daughters; Barbra Jene Murphy, 1952 and Frances U. Murphy, 1982. Surviving are eight sons and daughter-in-laws; Robert Stephen and Janice Murphy of Utica, Ky., Thomas Martin & Charlotte Murphy of Philpot, Ky., Joseph Christopher and Jeanie Murphy, Jr. of Maceo, Ky., Pat S. & Shelia Murphy of Elba, Ky., Wally & Kim Murphy of Elba, Ky., Harold & Tricia Murphy of Elba, Ky., Michael & Tonya Murphy of Sorhgo, Ky., and Phil and Tammy Murphy of West Louisville, Ky., four daughters and son-in-laws; BernadetteBernie and Michael Barnard of Whitesville, Ky., Joan and AndrewSkeeterDant of Fort Mill, SC., Imelda and RichardRockMillay of Sorgho, Ky., and Linda Murphy of Sorhgo, Ky., 27 Grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren, one brother; Muray Murphy of St. Joseph, Kentucky and one sister; Sr. Teresa Marie Murphy, SCN of Nazareth, Ky. Several Nieces & Nephews. Services will be held at 11:00am. January 24, 2004 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church visitation from 2:00 to 8:00pm. Friday and 8:00 to 10:30am. Saturday, prayers will be said at 6:30pm. Friday. Reverend Greg Trawick will be officiating. Burial will be at St. Alphonsus Cemetery.
