  7. As my tears fall heavily, I am comforted to know where he is now…In the arms of Jesus and fully restored. JD, as I knew him, was one of my closest and dearest friends (even though it was only 5 years of daily emails as we shared geopolitical news). I want to thank each of you in his family for helping create & shape the character of the person we loved so dearly. What a good man he was. Always there for my husband and me with just the right scripture, just the right words of encouragement for life’s trials. Emersyn, or “Ladybug” as he’d refer to you, he was so proud of how you are growing as an individual. JohnTyler, Mason, & Katelyn~ I was always so amazed by your family’s strength and your dad was so proud of each of you and at the same time, he was so humble. I know you understand how blessed you are to have been raised by such a man. My heart goes out to each of you now and please, when you can in the coming year, send me photos of Jonathan so that I may paint his portrait for you as I hope to honor his life well-lived. May God bless you and comfort you at this time. Sincerely, Candace & Sean Wagner
