Joe M. Bacon 82 of Summer Shade, KY died Thursday Sept. 9, 2004 at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow. He was born in Barren County the son of the late Elbert M. and Virgie Bacon. Mr. Bacon was a member of the Temple Hill Baptist Church, was a former insurance agent, school bus driver and a life long farmer. He also served in the U. S. Army during WWII. He is survived by his wife June Vance Bacon; a daughter Glenna Jo Bacon of Glasgow; a nephew Marion Donald Bradford of Hendersonville, TN; a niece Guelda Houchens of Glasgow and 2 great nephews Charlie Lowery of Glasgow and Charlie Bradford of Texas. He was also preceded in death by six sisters, Emma Houchens, Jewell Lowery, Artie Gentry, Lavada Bradford, Maxie Nell Bacon and Mildred Bacon. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Sunday Sept. 12, 2004 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be after 11am Saturday at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home.
