Janie Berryman, age 92, of Glasgow, died Thursday, September 24, 2020 at NHC in Glasgow. The daughter of the late Joseph Houchens and the late Rose Hannah (Eatmon) Houchens, she was born in Glasgow on March 11, 1928. She was a homemaker, a member of WMU and a member of Barren County Homemakers. She was instrumental in establishing the Foundation of Mental Retardation in Monroe County. She was a lifetime member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Susan Jackson of Temple Hill and Kaye Berryman of Glasgow; two sons, Jeff Berryman (Donna) of Hiseville and Danny Berryman (Shelia) of Nobob; nine grandchildren, Stephanie Davis (Daniel), Shannon Berryman (Sonya), Kelly Mutter, Wade Jackson (Lindsey), Hannah Kingrey (Matt), Thomas Stone, Coy Dustin Berryman, Casey Berryman and Brandi Peacher (Brent); one daughter-in-law, Nancy Berryman; one son-in-law, Turner Bartley; 14 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, as well as several nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elzie Ray Berryman; one son, David Allen Berryman; one daughter, JoAnn Bartley; one grandson, Joe Allen Jessie; four siblings; son-in-law, Harold Jackson.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Sunday, September 27th at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Union #2 Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM Saturday and Sunday morning until time for services at the funeral home.

All those who wish to honor and remember Ms. Berryman in person at the visitation or service must wear a mask or other appropriate facial covering and practice physical distancing while inside the funeral home for the safety of those in attendance.

  5. Wonderful times were had with the Berryman family. Janie & Ray were such a loving & welcoming couple to me. Such happy memories spending time with the
    WHOLE family. Meals around the table. Just playing around outside(sliding down Ray’s haystacks-which we got in trouble for, along with other mischievous things that kids will do. I can still hear Janie’s voice & laughter in my head & her smiles. The Berrymans were good friends to our family. Love to all the families & I am so, so sorry for your loss of Janie.😢😔
