James Dickie Hoover, 70, of Glasgow, passed away Sunday, September 6, 2020 at the Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville. He was born November 7, 1949 to the late James and Edna Earl Dickie Hoover. James was an over the road truck driver for over 30 years and retired from Dart Container in Horse Cave. He loved airplanes, loved flying, watching Gunsmoke and airplane shows on T.V.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Faye Burris Hoover; one son, Chris Hoover (Stephanie), one daughter Tammy Hoover Pedigo all of Glasgow; one sister, Barbara Yates of Horse Cave; step grandson, Nicolas “Nic” Hanson of Glasgow; one aunt, Kitty Mattingley of Lexington along with his fur babies, Penny, Precious and Little Bear.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Arthur and Roxie Williams and Charlie and Allie Olivia Dickie along with a daughter-in-law, Judy Kay Pedigo.
Funeral services will be held 11am Saturday, September 12, 2020 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Union #2 Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, September 11, 2020 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm and on Saturday morning until time for the service.

Chris, Stephanie & the rest of the family. Dickey & I were big buddies about 60 years ago. We were neighbors in Austin then & we had some great times together. I’m so sorry for your loss. I know he will really be missed.

So very sorry to hear of Dickie’s passing. I worked with him in the 70’s at SKF and thought a lot of him. Prayers go out to Dickie’s family.
