Hurlan Hiram Claywell 70 of Glasgow died Wednesday, August 24, 2005 at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. Born in Cumberland County, KY he was the son of the late Robert Clayton & Elva Easter Claywell. Mr. Claywell attended the Siloam Baptist Church and was a former employee of Tommy Wells Construction for 25 years. Survivors include his wife of 46 years Ruby Wilson Claywell of Glasgow; 2 sons Hiram Claywell, Jr. of Glasgow and Gregory A. Claywell & wife Rhonda of Park City, KY; 2 daughters Beverly Smith & husband Walter of Glasgow and Donna Sturgeon & husband Kevin of Glasgow; 4 brothers Nyman Claywell of Glasgow, Gary Claywell of Temple Hill, KY, E. J. Claywell of Glasgow and Rondal Claywell of Louisville, KY; 2 sisters Irene Cutter of Sioux Falls, SD and Eloise Veach of Louisville, KY; 7 grandchildren Bethany Smith, Trevor Smith, Minnisha Claywell, Suesanna Claywell, Robert Claywell, Justin Sturgeon and Jakob Sturgeon; mother-in-law Mary E. Wilson of Glasgow and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother Donald Lacy Claywell and a sister Robbie Francis. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Saturday, August 27, 2005 at the Siloam Baptist Church with burial in the Lick Branch Cemetery. Visitation will be after 3:00pm Friday at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home.
