Gladys L. Hardesty, 85 of 3815 Willow Way died at 8:45pm.on October 23, 2005 at Hillcrest Health Care Center in Owensboro, Ky. She was born in McLean County, Ky. and was retired from General Electric after 31years. She was a US Army Veteran during World War II. One of her proudest memories was serving in USARMY as a Wac during World War II. She was a member of St. Joseph & Paul Catholic Church for 51years, enjoyed playing cards, puzzles, being outdoors and caning chairs, and being with family. Preceded in death by her husband, Joseph L. Hardesty who died in September 23, 1987; three brothers, Thomas, Clifton and Kenneth Cobb; sister, Freida Cobb. Surviving are her son, Ron Hardesty and his wife, Martha of Owensboro; two daughters, Karen Cole and her husband, Mickey and Maureen Jackson both of Owensboro; grandchildren, Steven Sweeden and his wife, Laura of Louisville, Ky., Jennifer Mathews of Indianapolis, Indiana, Kristen Hardesty of Owensboro, Todd Hardesty of Owensboro; great grandchildren, Tyler, Jacob and Chad; sister, Mildred Downs of Livermore, Ky. Several Nieces and Nephews. Services are at 10am. Wednesday at St. Joseph and Paul Catholic Church, visitation from 4 to 8pm. Tuesday and 8 to 9:30am. Wednesday and prayers will be said at 6:30pm. Tuesday. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
