George Wallace Stephens 65 of Glasgow, KY died Thursday January 8, 2004 at his home. He was born in Monroe County the son of the late George and Pauline Williams Stephens. Mr. Stephens was a member of the Columbia Ave. Church of Christ, a 1962 graduate of the University of Kentucky with a degree in Agriculture and had served in the Kentucky National Guard. He was a former agent with Kentucky Farm Bureau Insurance Co. in Barren County, and was associated in the Fertilize and Feed industry with Big G Fertilizer Co., Purina Co. and Triple S Feeds. Wallace was more recently an automobile salesman and had recently retired from Goodman Automotive in Glasgow. He is survived by his wife Emogene Cary Stephens; 2 sons Wesley Stephens and wife Loralee of Tompkinsville and John Stephens and wife Brook of Glasgow; 1 brother Joe Stephens and wife Jo Rita of Tompkinsville; 1 sister Mary Nell MacLeod and husband Ron of Lexington and 6 grandchildren Shelby and Graham Stephens of Tompkinsville and Drake, Parker, Lane and Colton Stephens of Glasgow. Two daughters Marla Jean Stephens and Melinda Stephens preceded him in death. Funeral services will be 2pm Saturday January 10, 2004 at the Columbia Ave. Church of Christ with burial in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Tompkinsville. Visitation will be after 11am Friday at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home and on Saturday from 8am until 10:30am at the funeral home and at the Columbia Ave. Church of Christ from 11am until time for services. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of memorials to the Columbia Ave. Church of Christ, 315 Columbia Ave., Glasgow, KY 42141.
