George C. Wooten 73 of Glasgow died Thursday May 19, 2005 at the Glasgow State Nursing Facility. Born in Barren County the son of the late Roger and Martha Crumpton Wooten and husband for 54 years to Martha Jane Wooten. Mr. Wooten retired from the Glasgow Water Company and was a member of the Temple Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife Martha Jane Wooten of Glasgow; 6 daughters Judy Abney and husband Ralph Abney of Railton, Nancy Moore and husband Cecil Moore of Glasgow, Georgia Poole of Summer Shade, Elizabeth Likens and husband James Likens of Glasgow, Vickie Wilson and husband Ricky Wilson of Glasgow and Mary Wilson and husband Bryant Wilson, Sr. of Glasgow; 1 son Harold Wooten and wife Mary Wooten of Glasgow; 12 grandchildren Dorothy Richey, Kenneth Shaw, Crystal Lowe, Wayne Moore, Melinda Sanders, Christie Sexton. William Wooten, Jason Likens, Martha Wilson, Bryant Wilson Jr., Amanda Gulley and Josh Wooten; 13 Great grandchildren; 1 brother James Wooten and wife Elizabeth; 6 sisters Anna Doolin and husband Harold Doolin, Doris York and husband Clifford York, Kathryn Parker, Martha Parks, Myrtle Shirley and husband Howard Shirley and Wanda Brown. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by 1 grandson Darrell Richey; 3 brothers Henry, Richard and Virgil Wooten and 1 sister Rosie Riley. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday May 22, 2005 at the A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be after 10:00 AM Saturday at the Funeral Home.
