George A Ward, Sr., 74, of 2606 West Cloverdale Drive, passed away on Saturday, July 9th, 2005 at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born November 2, 1930 in Daviess County, KY. and was a retired businessman. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed fishing and gardening. Mr. Ward was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Ward, 1985 and a brother, Remus A. Bunk Ward, Jr. and his parents, Remus Ward and Nola Fulkerson Ward. Surviving is his former wife, Susan Pike Ward, of Owensboro. Three sons: George Allen Ward, II of Owensboro, Martin Eugene Ward, of Henderson and David Allen Ward, Somerset, KY. Three daughters: Rose Fortner and her husband, Jerry, Lenora Howard and her husband, Dennis and Valerie Thompson and her husband, C.L. all of Owensboro. Six grandchildren: Dennis Howard, II and Chris Howard, Amber Fortner Whirley and Justin Fortner, Gary Oost, II and Denver Huff. Three brothers: Wilford Ward and Chester Ward, Sr., both of Owensboro, Gene Ward of New Albany, Ind. One sister, Margaret Lois Daugherty, Owensboro.
