Donnetta K. Cardinal, 83, of Monroe City, IN passed away April 27, 2022. She was born to the late Donald B. and Fern (Perry) Cardinal on August 29, 1938, in Monroe City. Donnetta graduated from Monroe City High School in 1956 and continued her education by obtaining an associate degree in nursing. She worked for Good Samaritan Hospital for 40+ years. Donnetta was a member of the Monroe City High School Alumni Association and a volunteer for the Blue Jean Center. She enjoyed reading and cooking for her family and friends.

Donnetta was preceded in death by her parents and brother Larry Cardinal.

She is survived by her children Pamella (David) Vories and Michael (Nancee) Scott; grandchildren Matthew (Jill Davis) Vories, Andrew (Gianna Benjamin) Vories, Calvin (Michele) Scott, Carrie (Clayton) Willis; 6 great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law Pamela Cardinal.

Goodwin-Sievers is honored and entrusted with the care of Ms. Cardinal. Visitation will be May 7, 2022 at Wilson Creek Cemetery from 10:30-11am. Services will be held on May 7, 2022 at 11am.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Wilson Creek Cemetery.

We always enjoyed visiting with her when we were back in Indiana. We definitely enjoyed her cooking and having her join us with Pam on day trips.     Donnetta in the ER and outpatient. She was a very hard worker and made work fun.

  6. Oh, I’m so sorry to hear this…and very sorry for the family’s loss!! She was a good neighbor to my family and if I’m not mistaken she was in the ER when my brother went in with chest pain and had a heart attack in the ER when he was in his 40’s….
    Donetta and her family have been a part of my family all my life.
    This makes me very sad…

  11. Your family has my deepest sympathies. Donetta is one of the nurses I worked with at GSH in the 70s & 80s who really stands out in my memory. Always kind & a really good nurse. I am so sorry to learn of her passing. May your memories give you comfort & may she rest in peace.
