David Wayne Hill, 62, passed away on July 31, 2022. David was born on July 13, 1960 in Jasper, IN and he was the son of Gerald and Sharon (Leavell) Hill.
David graduated from Washington High School where he was very active in sports. He went on to attend Olney Central Community College on a baseball scholarship. David attended Southwind Wesleyan Church and enjoyed watching sports. He recently just retired from RTC and his family was very proud of the fact that David was an organ donor. Most importantly though, David enjoyed spending time with his family and his grandchildren.
Survivors include his parents, Gerald and Sharon Hill of Washington; daughter, Tiffany Hill of Washington, IN David G. Hill (Wendy Drew) of Washington, IN; sisters, Denise Bechtel of Washington, IN, Donna Kauffman and her husband Bill of Loogootee, IN; brothers, Denny Hill and his wife Kathi of Washington, IN, Darren Hill (B.J. Sherman) of Loogootee, IN; his grandchildren, Christopher Logston, Gabriel Waylon Abel, Johnathan David Abel, Jackson Hill and Camilla Hill.
Friends may visit with David’s family from 4-8 pm on Friday, August 5, 2022 and from 10:00 am until the hour of service time of 11:00 am on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at Southwind Wesleyan Church, 1782 Troy Road, Washington, IN 47501. David was one of the kindest souls you would ever meet, he loved the simple things in life, his family was everything to him, he will be missed by so many.

This is so hard to believe he is gone. David was such a caring man and loved his family so much. When he told me his son’s name was David I said does he look like you? He smiled and said yes. David then smiled really big and said I have a grandson name Davey…I laughed and said does he look like you? He smiled real big and took both of his hands near his shoulders and widened them and said yes. I knew he was referring to big football shoulders. Durn you are going to be really missed my friend.
