Brian Lee Calloway, 53, of Owensboro, Kentucky, passed away March 27, 2022. He was born January 21, 1969 in Owensboro, Kentucky to the late Hubert and Kathleen “Kay” Sizemore Calloway.

Brian helped everyone no matter what! He was a good dad, he worked hard, and cared about everything that his children did. One of Brian’s favorite hobbies were collecting coins and knives. He also enjoyed finding random items and fixing them up.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Mike Calloway and his sisters, Mary Straney and Patricia Bailey

Brian is survived by his wife of 24 years, Lena Calloway; his children, Kirbee (Gage) Porter and Jacob Calloway; his siblings, Gene Calloway, Barbara Hill, and Debbie Gardner; several nieces, nephews, and many cousins.

Services will be 3:00 pm Friday, April 1, 2022 at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Friday, April 1, 2022 at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory.

  2. I remember hanging out as kids and you were always really nice and funny. Overall very good to be around. I never got to see you once I grew up but you always hold a place in my memories.

I will never forget how much he loved his brother and how close they was..Brian and Lena had just had Kirby when I met them they was always so kind to me and my three girls and yes my grandkids no matter what I always felt lol be from Brian he was the one I talked to a lot when Mike had his first heart attack.Lens such a good person and mother I know she and the children anlre hurting.But one thing I remember is I called up Brian and said Brian I left the hospital my granddaughter had been moved from NICU to kosairs children hospital in the middle of night Brian told me if anything went wrong with Mike he would call me two days later he called me said they put Mike in nursing home I said I’ll be right there we will get him out of there I remember getting there and Brian setting by Mike’s bed he said Tina I can’t take seeing him here what we gonna do. I said I’ll stay all night have him out in morning so long story short we got Mike out by 740 next morning took him home and on the way I remember Brian looking at Mike saying you almost checked out brother Mike said yea I was scared Brian said I’m not afraid to die I have a one way ticket to a way better place !!! I just don’t want to leave Lena and my kids got he got Mike to thinking a lil harder about things.. he was always good to us…

  4. Rip Brian, you was an amazing friend , growing up with you thur are school years hanging out at your house and with are friends. You was also an amazing co-worker an worked hard . You always put smiles on everyone faces , you always listen and gave advice . You rest in peace fly high with the angels . Til I see ya again . Sorry for your family ‘s loss of an great man.You will be missed .

Now your up there with mom,Mary,,Mike, and Lonnie along with alot of other great ppl!! I bet y’all are having a blast and partying it up seeing each other!! I love you til we meet again!!
