Barbara Sue Garrett, 83, of Fort Branch, IN passed away March 3, 2021. She was born March 14, 1937 in Fort Branch, IN to the late George and Zelpha (Clem) Gieselman. Barbara graduated from Fort Branch High School in 1955. She worked for the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier for 45 years. Barbara wanted to extend a special thank you to all the residence of Fort Branch for allowing her to drink from water spickets on her route. You may or may not have known, but she also watered the flowers for you! Barbara was a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Fort Branch. She was an avid reader, enjoyed shopping, and loved to travel. Barbara was always ready for an adventure.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 61 years, Robert (Mac) Garrett; and son Brian Scott Garrett.
Barbara is survived by her children Cruzan (Roy) Kissel and Sterling Broc (Karen) Garrett; grandchildren, who knew her as “The Fantastic One”, Courtney (Brad) Moore, Brandi (John) Barbre, Michael (Miranda) Garrett, Zachary L’Grand, and Andrea Garrett; great grandchildren Mason, Max, Mathew, Miles, Parker, Mac, and Gabby.
Holder’s Funeral Home is honored and privileged to be entrusted with the care of Mrs. Garrett. Visitation will be held Sunday, March 7, 2021 at Holders Funeral Home from 11a-2p. Funeral will be held at 2pm with Cory Atkins officiating and burial at Walnut Hill Cemetery. All those who wish to honor and remember Barbara in person at the service is required to wear a mask for the safety of all those in attendance. Social distancing will be enforced.
