Abigail J. Spells Embry, 49, of Beaver Dam passed away Sunday, June 21, 2020 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital. She was born Leiston, England on August 18, 1970 to the late Gerald and Patricia Spells. Abigail worked for the Ohio County Library as a Librarian.

Abigail is survived by her husband, Leroy Embry; her 2 children, Jacob Embry and Emily Embry; her 2 step-daughters, Kristin Geary and Nikki Singh; 3 grandchildren, Elliott Geary, Dylan Geary, and Averi Embry; her sister, Clare Reid, and her brother, Michael Spells.

A Celebration of Life for Abigail will take place 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm Friday, June 26, 2020 at Miller Schapmire Funeral Home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations online to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

  2. My children & I love seeing Abby at the library. She was so friendly & welcoming. We loved taking part in the art programs she did. We will miss her so much. Praying for her family.

  3. Abby was a wonderful friend, coworker and a blessing to everyone who knew her. I saw her children grow up and shared in her joy of family. She was a very creative and talented person. I will always miss her. I pray for her family as they say goodbye to her.

  4. There are so many things to say about Abby! The world was truly been blessed by her presence. She had amazing talent! I worked with her at the library for 13 years and she watched my children grow…they always had to say hello to Ms Abby. You will be dearly missed sweet friend❤️

  5. We are very saddened to learn of the passing of Abby.My Kenny worked with her husband Leroy for many years. I met Abby years ago at the library when I would take my girls. Loved her sweet accent. She was always so sweet, Everytime I saw her. Always smiling. And willing to help others. Praying for Leroy, Jake, Emily, and the rest of her family and close friends. Especially those she worked with at the library. Sure will miss seeing her face. Lots of prayers for the days and months ahead.

  8. Sweet Abby, i will miss you dearly. Knowing you was such a blessing, always sharing a smile and kind words. I remember the day you started working at the library and how wonderful it was to work beside you for so long. One of our best memories was when you, me and Kristi cooked a surf and turf meal for the kids and chased them around with crab legs. We laughed about that one many times. Prayers of comfort go out to your family and coworkers. May there hearts be filled with all the great moments you have spent with them. Much love.
